IPED Africa
Digital home for the African Union's education observatory
The web platform for IPED, a specialised institution of the African Union serving as Africa's education observatory, publishing research and policy evidence for AU member states.
The problem
A continental institution's credibility travels through its website. IPED's research, policy dialogues and knowledge products serve education ministries across 55 member states, and needed a home that reads as institutionally serious while staying usable on the connectivity those audiences actually have.
What we did
Built a structured publication model for research outputs, policy dialogues, symposiums and knowledge café sessions, so the archive stays navigable as it grows.
Designed to African Union institutional standards: restrained, authoritative, and legible to ministry officials rather than to a design-award jury.
Optimised aggressively for low-bandwidth conditions, because a research portal that only works on fibre fails the people it exists to serve.
Structured content around the GPE-KIX partnerships and Agenda 2063 education goals the institute reports against.
Outcome
A continental-scale publishing platform serving AU member states, policymakers, researchers and education practitioners across Africa.
